Dubai Design District has set a new precedent by releasing the ICT Masterplan for Smart City Design Guidelines. Showcasing d3’s development as a Green Pilot Smart City, d3’s Smart City Developer Guidelines demonstrated how the district has embraced technology to improve the quality of life for its residents and visitors, whilst simultaneously acting as a blueprint for Smart Cities around the world.
d3 has been implementing smart technology and innovation since its inception, so that rather than implementing smart initiatives in isolated sectors, its multidiciple approach has enabled it to become a Smart City at every angle. Therefore both d3 and Smart City are in a unique position by freely sharing their work with the world to use, enlightening other cities with their approach, to further drive the growth of smart cities globally.
Using this invaluable experience d3 has worked with Cisco to produce comprehensive ICT Guidelines for the development of a Smart City-wide technology infrastructure and network architecture that can be used as an interactive manual for building ICT infrastructure for a Smart City and for buildings globally.
